A Summer In Budapest!

Last time we spoke it was the hostel's birthday and needless to say, we have been busy since then. We started off strong with a leak in the bathroom, water gushing down from the ceiling.. Which kinda put us all in a bad mood and not very excited for the summer. BUT the problem got solved quicker than we thought (thanks to Arwin's handyman skills) and we got all excited for a busy summer at the hostel again!

As per usual Arwin has been on his big trip to Croatia. Alex has been to Spain to watch the solar eclipse and I went to Italy with my family. (Which was all fun and games until we, on the last day, came back to our car broken into with all of our shit stolen). 

One of the big events this summer was the Champions League Final, which took place in Budapest, and never have I seen so many sad and angry Englishmen before. The World Cup has, of course, been a recurring theme throughout the summer.

At the hostel we have guests from all over the world and it truly is something special when we all come together and watch the games. And let me tell you, we have become both friends and enemies during this time :).

But the greatest thing this summer has, without a doubt, been our volunteers. We've had both familiar and new faces at the hostel and every single one has done an amazing job. It's not often you find volunteers who can party until 6am, start their shift at 8am and do it flawlessly - and this summer we have been blessed with these people!

We have had many bbq`s, we've sung our

hearts out to Midnight Sun at Sziget, we've been playing volleyball in city park and been on (too many to count) Prosecco Cruises during sunset. As you can tell, this summer has been elite! Tomorrow we are doing the last hostel bbq for this year -sad but fun- and then we are ready to welcome autumn.
